I did my Bachelors of technology in Biotechnology at the Vellore institute of technology, India. Further I did my master’s in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Bremen, Germany. My thesis involved studying the role of glycosylation in trans-sialidases, a key virulence factor in the life cycle of trypanosomes.
From 04/2017, I started my PhD at the department of Cell Biology and Medical Microbiology under the supervision of Prof Fulvio Reggiori and Prof Jolanda Smit. My work involves unraveling and characterizing unconventional role of autophagy (ATG) proteins in the life cycle of arboviruses like Chikungunya, Dengue and Zika viruses.
