Nicole Pirozzi is a Ph.D. student, beginning in July 2016. She is in Ben Giepmans’ group in the Molecular Cell Biology section. Her main project is to develop methods for elemental detection via energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) of biological samples. She also has an interest in type 1 diabetes research and assists in the electron microscopy data acquisition and analysis of human pancreas.
She obtained her Bachelor’s in Bioengineering, with a focus in Bioelectronics and Biophotonics, at Lehigh University (Bethlehem, PA, USA) and a double degree Master’s in Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Imaging, and Instrumentation track, at both the University of Groningen (NL) and Czech Technical University in Prague (CZ).
